Encode or decode Base64 text, with URL-safe output and file support. Runs entirely in your browser.
Base64 represents binary data using 64 printable ASCII characters, which is how binaries get embedded in JSON, data URIs, email attachments, and JWTs.
Text is treated as UTF-8. Drop a file to encode its raw bytes instead. URL-safe mode swaps the `+` and `/` characters for `-` and `_` so the result can be used in a query string or path segment.
Is Base64 encryption? No. It is an encoding, not a cipher. Anyone can decode it, so never use it to protect a secret.
Why is my Base64 output longer than the input? Base64 encodes three bytes as four characters, so output is about 33 percent larger than the input, plus padding.
